  1. I had forgotten the great Ennio Morricone had done the score for Lolita. I haven’t seen this version. Morricone just might be my favorite film score composer!

    • This version of Lolita is okay…I definitely prefer Kubrick’s though. I have a few Morricone compilations and they have very few pieces from his 90s films…although he had a ton from the decade! I think I have more than enough 90s tracks on my YouTube channel, I am going to get back to posting older stuff again.

  2. I’ll submit Ennio Morricone is the greatest living composer of film music; you can argue with me over whether he’s the greatest of all time!

    • Morricone is the greatest living composer of film music. One can make all the arguments they want citing Williams, Jarre, Rota, Bernstein (Elmer or Leonard) and Herrmann (and a bunch more I haven’t named) but as a huge fan of Italian horror/giallo and Westerns Morricone has done more soundtracks for my favourite films than any of the aforementioned. No one tops him…but as a fan of Italian horror/giallo I adore a lot of the Italian composers; Riz Ortolani, Fabio Frizzi, Goblin…Simonetti’s solo stuff and Bruno Nicolai to name a few. But still…Morricone is number one.
