Goregirl’s Dungeon on YouTube: Betty Dickson – Shanty Tramp
Joseph P. Mawra’s 1967 film Shanty Tramp features a song sharing the same name. It is an awesome hip-shaking ditty that appealed to me immediately. The film’s opening credits state the lyrics were written by Reuben Guberman and the music was by Frank Linales but no mention of the song’s vocalist Betty Dickson! Songstress Betty Dickson hits all the right notes and frankly I have no idea why she would not have received credit for her vocal styling! Enjoy the sweet sounds of Betty Dickson as she sings the title song for Joseph P. Mawra’s Shanty Tramp…

Great tune! Betty Dickson was a jazz legend in Florida. Lots of very cool songs/music in those films from Something Weird! Fun stuff,Goregirl! 🙂

I am crazy about this little number! Really?! I never heard of Betty Dickson before this tune but I should have taken some time to do a little homework on Ms. Dickson. Curse me!

I really like theme songs that share the title of the film and/or describe the plot of the film.
