  1. An all-time favorite movie. Wonderful special effects,nice performances(Les Tremayne is very cool as Major General Mann),awesome score,and I love those Martian spaceships! The remake didn’t even come close to topping this for me. Another great post,Goregirl! Wishing you a great weekend,too!

    • This film is definitely one of the greats…did not like that Spielberg version one damn bit. Blech. Cheers Conrad!

      • The sequence when the main protagonist is hiding from the alien in the farmhouse is genuinely unnerving. Other than that, the film has never really affected me. I found the Spielberg version of War of the Worlds to be entertaining enough. I’m waiting for a version based on the book.
