Hitchcock On My Mind
I love Alfred Hitchcock! One of these days I will do my top ten favourite Hitchcock films! In the meantime here are two videos I put together for a couple of pieces of music from two of Hitchcock’s outstanding entries; Vertigo and Psycho.
Bernard Herrmann – Psycho Suite Prelude/The Murder/Finale. Music and images from Hitchcock’s 1960 film Psycho! Warning! Spoiler pictures have been included in this slideshow!
Bernard Herrmann – Vertigo – Scene d’Amour with a slideshow of Alfred Hitchcock films (1934 – 1976). I have not seen any of Hitchcock’s pre-1934 films so I did not include them in this slideshow.

I don’t think I have ever seen a Hitchcock film I disliked! But off the top of my head a few I really love other than Vertigo and Psycho? The Wrong Man, Rope, The Trouble with Harry, Notorious. I would have to re-watch some of the titles I haven’t seen in a while before I could complete a list I could say definitely represented me though.
Thanks for the link…I will check that out!

The guy was a genius because he was a dirty old man who loved to put his dirty Freudian laundry on display for all to see, cramming it down the audience’s throats without them even knowing (the mommy issues, the ridiculous trains and tunnels and cigarette phallic imagery, voyeurism etc…). I guess there’s no real definition of an “art film” but I’d say Hitch made them, and made them extremely accessible to the public en masse.
I don’t think I could ever do a top ten just because it’d be impossible to separate out the ten best. They’re almost all great, and definitely all good. All I know is Vertigo is my favorite- a suspenseful love story about necrophilia.

That dirty voyeuristic old man is okay. I have yet to see a Hitchcock film I disliked but there are absolutely ones I like better than others.
I wish I was working on my top 10 fave Hitchcock films instead of my top 10 fave werewolf films. I have seen several werewolf films this year. So far I have a solid SEVEN (and five of those were ones I have seen multiple times). The werewolf pool is not nearly as deep as the vampire or zombie pool. Working on my top 20 women of horror….also giving me plenty of troubles.
